Itinerary

Day 1: Winnipeg, Canada

Welcome to Winnipeg

After checking into the hotel, you’ll meet your group and interpretive guide. Then we’ll visit historic Winnipeg. Our tour includes the Manitoba Legislative Building, the Exchange District, and St. Boniface—a French-speaking community. We’ll stop at the Forks, where the Assiniboine River and Red River meet.

In the evening, our guide will host a welcome dinner. Get to know your fellow travellers and learn more about our upcoming adventure into the north.

Day 2: Churchill

Churchill Adventure Begins

We begin with our flight to Churchill, over prairie, taiga and tundra. Upon arrival, we’ll tour the area, including Cape Merry and the “Polar Bear Jail”. We’ll walk along the coast of the Hudson Bay —bring your bug spray!

After lunch we’ll visit the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre and Churchill’s Eskimo Museum, which houses one of the most extensive Inuit Art collections in the world. Our group will enjoy dinner together at a wonderful family-run restaurant.

Day 3: Churchill

Tundra Buggy Adventure

Today will be spent in a Tundra Buggy with an expert local guide, viewing polar bears and other Arctic wildlife. All of our vehicles are furnished with dual pane frost-free windows and real-flame propane heating systems.

You will enjoy picnic-style lunches and refreshments while bear watching. The day concludes with an evening slide show conducted by seasoned residents of the area. Relax and soak up years of northern experience, enchanting stories, and magnificent photography.

Day 4: Churchill

Dog Sledding and Itsanitaq Museum

In the morning, you’ll learn about the unique history of Canadian dogsledding from a local sledding expert. Then you’ll enjoy an exhilarating ride by sled (or cart, weather permitting). Enjoy hot chocolate, fresh bannock, and sledding stories after your ride.

During the afternoon, we’ll visit the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre. Here you’ll see wildlife dioramas and fur trade exhibits. View a series of videos on the history, culture, and wildlife of the area.

Day 5: Churchill

Final Tundra Buggy Adventure

Today features another excursion via Tundra Buggy, including a picnic-style lunch and final opportunities for bear watching. Then we’ll gather our luggage and make our way to the airport.

At 19:00, we’ll board our evening flight to Winnipeg. Dinner will be served aboard. We’ll arrive in Winnipeg between 21:00 and 21:30. We overnight at the Four Points Sheraton again tonight.

Day 6: Winnipeg, Canada

A Fond Farewell

You’ll depart Winnipeg at your leisure, depending on your independent travel arrangements.
