Windmills at Kinderdijk
Once a common sight across the Netherlands, windmills are vanishing from the Dutch landscape. Kinderdijk is a UNESCO World Heritage sight and home to nineteen original windmills.
Maspalomas Nature Reserve
The Maspalomas Nature Reserve stretches out over 1000 acres and is a fantastic mix of desert and oasis. From the sandy beaches with shallow water to over ten miles of dunes that run from the Faro lighthouse to Playa del Inglés, a visit here will not dissapoint!
Belem Tower
The unique four-story Belem Tower fortress sits directly on the banks of the Tagus, and was built in the 16th century to defend the harbor. Originally a lighthouse, it was also used as a prison.
Glamis Castle, near Edinburgh, Scotland
A royal residence since 1372, the castle is thought to be haunted. Tour Duncan Hall, made famous in Shakespeare's Macbeth, view the medieval royal rooms, and look out for the legendary ghosts.
