Belem Tower
The unique four-story Belem Tower fortress sits directly on the banks of the Tagus, and was built in the 16th century to defend the harbor. Originally a lighthouse, it was also used as a prison.
Teide National Park
This national park and UNESCO world heritage site is home to Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain and the world's third-tallest volcanic structure. The spectacular landscape surrounding the mountain includes craters, rivers of petrified lava and different materials forming an impressive display of colours and shapes.
Walvis Bay
There are abundant bird species in the lagoon, including flamingos, pelicans, and Damara terns, and there are a number of fishing boats, ships, dolphins, and whales frequently seen in the harbor.
