Roseau City
The ancient Kalinago Indian settlement of Sairi is now the site of the capital city of Roseau, which is encircled by the Caribbean Sea, the Roseau River, and Morne Bruce. The charming town is small enough to be easily explored on foot and features a beautiful collection of French buildings from the 18th century. The New Market on the Riverbank, which sells fresh tropical fruit, vegetables, and herbs, is one of the attractions near Roseau. The Roseau Market is open every day and night from Friday to Saturday, with Saturday mornings being its busiest time.

Visitors can take in expansive views from Morne Fortune (Hill of Good Luck), the site of a conflict between the French and English for sovereignty of the island.
