Hovering above the city and arriving in peaceful Monte in a cable car will give you panoramic views of the garden city of Funchal and the sea. Making your way back down to the city in an iconic "basket car" is highly recommended!
Montserrat Benedictine Monastery Complex
This wonderful monastery, considered Catalonia's most important religious retreat, is hidden high in the craggy Montserrat Mountains. The world's oldest publishing house, established in 1499, is also located here.
